This Shortcuts Personal Automation will be useful for Apple Watch owners.
If like me, you have configured more than one Apple Watch face, you're likely to switch to specific ones either at similar times or for specific activities.

The Shortcuts app is to iOS what Automator is to macOS. A tool that allows building "If this .. then that" kind of recipes.
It started as Workflow which got acquired by Apple in 2017 and later was renamed Shortcuts.
Since iOS 14, it's possible to create automation that runs automatically based on different kinds of triggers, like the time of day, the location or when launching one or more specific apps.
Since iOS 13, Apple's mobile devices have gained Haptic Touch capability.
If that doesn't ring a bell, it's OK, it's the feature that allows quick access to some app functions by long pressing on the app icon for a few seconds and stopping before the icon jiggles.
I'm using this often with the App Store icon
Between Monday, June 7th and Friday, June 11th, 2021, Apple held its annual worldwide developer conference (WWDC) fully online, like last year.
In case you don’t know, the first day is always kicked off with a presentation called the “Keynote”, during which Tim Cook, (the CEO) and his team paint a picture of what is coming up in the world of Apple.
This session was jam-packed with information about the next versions of the operating system running on iPhone, iPad, the Mac and Apple Watch.
Because I understand that you may not have the time to watch the replay of the keynote, I’ve prepared a short summary with my 3 main takeaways:
The overlap between iOS, iPadOS and macOS is increasing
The penny finally dropped that humans are social beings
iPadOS is still more iOS than macOS
Since the dawn of iOS, it’s possible to quickly undo an action on your iPhone (and iPad) by shaking it.
And it’s simply called '“Shake to undo”.
So yes, imagine you type something, select it to copy it, but instead erase it.
No panic!
Just shake your iPhone then tap on “Undo” and you’re back to where you were.
Since iOS 14 it’s possible to launch actions when double- or triple-tapping the back of our iPhone.
Actions can be related to:
the system itself, like muting the phone, taking a screenshot, launching control centre or notification centre
accessibility features, like launching the magnifier or zooming the screen
automation created using the Shortcuts app (these are mine)
and even scroll gestures
In this post, I’ll show you how to use iCloud Keychain on your Apple devices.
As explained in my previous post, iCloud Keychain is a good place to start if:
you exclusively use Safari for web browsing
your online footprint is limited to a few accounts
you only need to manage login and credit card information
In this post, I’ll review three password managers that can be used on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Please note that to take advantage of the apps mentioned later on, you'll need at least the following versions of the operating system:
iOS 9 on iPhone/iPad
OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) on your Mac (preferably 10.10 Yosemite and up)
In this post, I will show you how to improve the security of your Apple device by enforcing the need to enter its password immediately after the device has been locked.
Having a login password/passcode is a must, since it prevents anybody who manages to get their hands on your device:
from accessing sensitive information (like messages or files)
and from impersonating you via e-mail or on social media.
To strengthen the security further, the password/passcode should be required as soon as you stop (even temporarily) using the device.
In this post, I will share with you a tip at the intersection of productivity and security.
You will learn how to speed up and protect at the same time your internet connection.
This tip is useful if:
your web browsing experience feels sluggish (webpage loading time too long)
you'd like to protect yourself and other family members from most phishing attacks
and, optionally, you'd like to easily and quickly block adult content
In this post, I will show you how to speed up repetitive typing of short sentences that you may use several times every week.
You can do that by defining shortcuts, like “omw” that, when typed will trigger the replacement with the words “On my way!”.
The key is to choose an uncommon combination of letters to avoid misfiring the text replacement, and one way to achieve this, is by prepending the shortcut with a special character like a comma, a dash or a dot.
In this post, I will show you how to add a layer of protection to some of your notes by locking them with a password on your iPhone.
This tip is useful if you store sensitive information in the Notes app (passwords, medical records , …) and want to keep it private when you give someone else access to your device.
