How to display the battery percentage on your iPhone

On iPhones with a Home button or some Face ID iPhones running iOS 16, it's possible to add the battery percentage value in the top right corner of the screen so that it's visible at all times.

To do that, just visit Settings > Battery then toggle the option "Battery Percentage"

On iPhones with Face ID running iOS 15 or earlier, the top right corner only displays the battery indicator, not the percentage value.

But, don't despair, here are 4 ways to quickly get the battery percentage on one of those iPhones.

Access Control Center

Simply swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to access Control Center and the battery percentage will appear in the top right corner:

Add a widget on the Home screen

  1. Long-press on an app icon

  2. Click on "Edit Home screen"

  3. Click on the "+" button in the top left corner

  4. Search for "Batteries" then tap on the found row

  5. Swipe left to choose the widget size (small, medium or large)

  6. Tap on "Add widget"

  7. Tap on "Done"

Add a widget on the Today view

  1. Swipe right from the leftmost Home screen

  2. Long-press on an existing widget

  3. Click on "Edit Home screen"

  4. Click on the "+" button in the top left corner

  5. Search for "Batteries" then tap on the found row

  6. Swipe left to choose the widget size (small, medium or large)

  7. Tap on "Add widget"

  8. Tap on "Done"

Ask Siri

You can also ask Siri: "Battery Capacity?" or "What is the remaining capacity of the battery?"

And you, how badly do you want to be able to see the remaining battery capacity on your iPhone?
