Short answer: Find out what specific part of the boot sequence fails and, if needed, 'google' the problem
The first thing to try would be rebooting in "Safe Mode" which cleans some cache and only loads the minimum from the system to operate.
If that doesn't work, then you'll need to reboot the computer in "Verbose Mode", see where the login procedure is stuck and Google the problem
Provided that you already downloaded Pages from the Mac App Store in the past, here's how to do it:
Open the Mac App Store
Click on your account (at the bottom)
This will give you access to the "Purchased" pane.
Locate Pages and initiate the download from there.
You'll see a message telling you that the latest version is incompatible so it will download and install a previous yet compatible version.
Did you know that since macOS 10.15 Catalina, it's possible to customise the language for most apps, independently from the operating system language?
This can be useful when, like me, you need to quickly show an app in different languages and you don't want to switch the language of the entire operating system.
Desktop Macs should get backed up via Time Machine (TM) to an external drive permanently connected to it.
For MacBooks, using an external hard drive is feasible (and recommended) but not super practical.
Another solution for MacBooks (especially those without a built-in SD card slot) is to invest in a Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution, like those from Synology.
On your Mac, you might already know the keyboard shortcuts to take the following kinds of screenshots:
Shift+Command+3 ( ⇧ ⌘ 3) to capture the entire screen
Shift+Command+4 ( ⇧ ⌘ 4) to capture a portion of the screen
But did you know that you can also capture a snapshot of an entire app window without needing to drag the crosshair around said app window?
In this post, I’ll show you how to use iCloud Keychain on your Apple devices.
As explained in my previous post, iCloud Keychain is a good place to start if:
you exclusively use Safari for web browsing
your online footprint is limited to a few accounts
you only need to manage login and credit card information
In this post, I’ll review three password managers that can be used on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Please note that to take advantage of the apps mentioned later on, you'll need at least the following versions of the operating system:
iOS 9 on iPhone/iPad
OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) on your Mac (preferably 10.10 Yosemite and up)
Sean Arenas asked the following question on Quora:
Can I sync photo albums and choose which ones to sync if I enable iCloud storage on my iPhone and Mac?
The short answer is "possibly" and it depends from two factors:
Between 5 June and 9 June 2017, Apple is holding its annual worldwide developer conference (WWDC) in San Jose, California.
For one week, more the 5,000 developers from more than 70 countries get to meet and discover new features that Apple has been working on over the past 12 months, both in hardware and software.
In case you don't know, the first day is always kicked off with a presentation called the "Keynote", during which Tim Cook, (the CEO) and his team paint a picture of what is coming up in the world of Apple.
